Mission Statement:
The South Phoenix Rebels Volleyball Club provides South Phoenix youth access to high-quality, affordable volleyball training, competition, and mentorship. We build a connected “village” around each athlete by engaging coaches, families, and the broader community in supporting their athletic and personal growth.

Coach Linda is a school counselor and committed leader in the South Phoenix community. Now in her fourth year of coaching, she has guided her teams to three regional championships and, most recently, helped lead them to a #1 overall CAA ranking at the end of the 2024 regular season and a #2 finish in the CAA Division 2 State Tournament. In 2025, her team won the CAA Division 3 State Championship!
As Co-Founder and Director of the South Phoenix Rebels Volleyball Club, Coach Linda plays a key role in shaping a program that empowers young athletes on and off the court. In the most recent season, her 12U team ranked in the top 25 in Arizona, and her 14U team finished in the top 36% statewide—demonstrating consistent growth and success across multiple age divisions.
A former competitive player herself, Coach Linda played volleyball at South Mountain High School and with Starlings Volleyball Club. She now channels her experience, passion, and mentorship into developing the next generation of athletes with a focus on character, confidence, and community.
Coach Danny is a dedicated parent and community leader currently completing his Social Work degree at Arizona State University. He brings a wealth of coaching experience to South Phoenix, serving as the Head Wrestling Coach and JV Boys Volleyball Coach at South Mountain High School, as well as the Freshman Girls Volleyball Coach at Cesar Chavez High School.
As the Co-Founder and Head Coach of the South Phoenix Rebels Volleyball Club, Coach Danny has built a strong, values-driven program that continues to make a statewide impact. During the most recent club season, his 12U team finished in the top 25 in Arizona, while the 14U team ranked in the top 36% statewide.
In 2024, Coach Danny helped lead a Jr. High team to a #1 overall CAA ranking at the end of the regular season and a #2 finish in the CAA Division 2 State Tournament. His leadership and mentorship earned him recognition from the CAA as a “Champion of Character” for his outstanding sportsmanship and commitment to student-athletes. Beyond coaching, Coach Danny dedicates his time to hosting open gyms and volleyball clinics across South Phoenix, creating opportunities for youth and growing the sport throughout the community.
Coach Bri brings energy, skill, and mentorship to the South Phoenix Rebels Volleyball Club. As a key coach for the 12U team, she played an active role in guiding and supporting young athletes through their development. In addition to her leadership with the 12U squad, Coach Bri also served in an advisory role with the 14U team, contributing to conditioning, specialty training, and team support throughout the season.
Bri is a recent graduate of South Mountain High School, where she was a multi-year varsity volleyball player and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Her experience as a student-athlete and her deep connection to the South Phoenix community make her a strong role model for younger players. Known for her positivity, hustle, and commitment to growth, Bri continues to inspire the next generation of Rebels both on and off the court.
Bri has been accepted to the University at Albany, where she will continue her studies to become a pharmacist.
Coach Devyn Scott, known as Coach Devyn, is a passionate leader and mentor for the South Phoenix Rebels Volleyball Club. She primarily coaches the 14U team, bringing strong guidance and skill development to help her players reach their potential. Additionally, Coach Devyn supports all the Rebels teams as an advisory, conditioning, and specialty coach, contributing her expertise to build a well-rounded and confident group of athletes.
A recent graduate of South Mountain High School, Devyn is a multi-year varsity volleyball player and also competed on an 18U club team for many years. Devyn has won multiple awards and accolades over her volleyball career including multiple First Team All-Region selections. Her high-level playing experience, dedication, and connection to the South Phoenix community make her an inspiring role model. Coach Devyn is committed to fostering growth, teamwork, and a lasting love for volleyball in every athlete she works with.
Devyn will continue her Volleyball career in college, recently accepting a roster spot at the College of the Siskiyous.
South Phoenix Rebels Volleyball Club coach Angelina “Coach Angie” Lopez is a dedicated mentor and emerging leader who plays an important role in developing athletes both on and off the court. As the primary coach for the Rebels 15U team, she focuses on athlete development, teamwork, and building confidence through competitive volleyball. In addition to leading her own team, Coach Angie also contributes across the club as a conditioning, advisory, and specialty coach, helping support the growth of athletes throughout the program.
A recent graduate of South Mountain High School, Angie built an impressive playing career as a multi-year varsity volleyball athlete while also competing at the club level on an 18U Open team. Throughout her career, she earned numerous honors recognizing her impact on the court, including AIA All-Region Offensive Player of the Year, PXU Offensive Player of the Year, multiple First Team All-Region selections, and All-PXU recognition.
Known for her strong work ethic, leadership, and commitment to the South Phoenix community, Coach Angie brings valuable experience and energy to every practice and competition. She is passionate about helping young athletes grow as players and individuals while creating a positive and supportive team culture.
Coach Angie will continue her volleyball journey at the collegiate level after accepting a roster position with Central Arizona College.

Coach Elie is a founding coach of the South Phoenix Rebels Volleyball Club, where she led the 12U team during its inaugural season. Her leadership helped establish a strong foundation for the club's mission and culture. With over nine years of coaching experience, Elizabeth brings a deep, lifelong passion for the sport and a commitment to developing athletes both on and off the court.
Raised in a volleyball-loving family, Elizabeth was quite literally born into the game. Her mother played throughout her pregnancy, planting the seeds of a passion that would grow with her. She began her journey as a back row specialist, later transitioning to Libero, and eventually to setter in high school under the guidance of a mentor coach. Through every phase, volleyball has taught her the values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance—lessons she now passes on to her players.
As a high school coach, Coach Elie is dedicated to nurturing both the athletic and personal growth of her athletes. She fosters a love for the game while instilling a strong work ethic, sportsmanship, and confidence. Her promise is to give each player the skills and support they need to compete at a high level and to help them carry their love for volleyball far beyond the court.
